Giving their gorgeous little girls Ayla six and Skye five a life worth living was what they desired. They wanted a quality life and they wanted to be together.
Chasing the dollar to pay for a mortgage was not for them. They were not going to live lives of quiet desperation thankyou Mr Thoreau.
Home schooling takes up an important part of the day and then there's the rest of it which invariably turns into an adventure.
Aaron, a sought after Sommelier is able to get work at top restaurants and so they may be in one place for a time while he replenishes
the family purse.
Jessica, a graphic artist in another life, now makes children's clothes and beautiful wedding dresses which she sells in New Zealand
and overseas.
They've dreamed of a life worth living.
They're living their dream...

William Lamson's Sweet Little Hilltop Solarium Is Made With Panels Of Caramalized Sugar...

Solarium as it's called, was designed and constructed by artist William Lamson.
This sweet little fully functioning greenhouse pays homage if you like to a tiny mountain chapel, a place for quiet contemplation or even Thoreau's one room cabin.
Each of the one hundred and sixty two panels is made of sugar, heated to different temperatures and then sealed between two pieces of glass.

Zinta Aistars Gorgeous Little Rustic Cottage On The Hill...

Zinta Aistars loves tiny homes and as she explains here and on Tiny House Blog, she moved into a hundred and something year old farmhouse in southwest Michigan complete with ten beautiful acres and a cute little cottage on the hill.
Zinta's a writer and finds the rustic little cottage a delight to her senses and her need for a meditative retreat.

Off Grid Micro House On Wheels...

Theatrical set designer Glenn Grassi built his micro 12ft by 7ft house, or is it a piece of art, or both, almost completely out of recycled materials.
He's included everything required to live happily and be self contained.
Lift up the bed and there's a shower cubicle.
There's a simple composting or humanure toilet too as you can see.
Just remember to remove the bucket's lid.
And as a further act of conservation, he can use the ashes from the fire to aid the decomposition.
Mr Grassi thinks the little home or stage set might be inhabited by a modern day Thoreau perhaps...
