Bolivia Takes McDonalds Off The Country's Menu...

It's said that the thirty something thousand McDonald restaurants around the world serve up to three hundred million people a day.
And the average McD serves eight people every minute they're open.
There are many obscene facts and overweight figures and fallacies about the company but let's get back to Bolivia where, as in many other countries, good food is prepared with loving care, attention to health and proper cooking times.
Bolivians relish a food philosophy that includes fresh ingredients and patience.
And the Latin American country has been saying no to McD for years. Finally the fast food giant has had to acknowledge a bottom line that was redder than a very rare steak and taken their junk food elsewhere.
Bolivia unlike many countries who have lost themselves in the fast and convenient world of packaged food-like products, just wasn't prepared to accept the McD culture.
The Bolivian rejection of McDonalds and the country's philosophy that fast food is a very poor substitute for the real thing is a great example for the rest of the world to follow.
But of course they won't...

It's True. Women Can Do Two Things At The Same Time. Like Breastfeeding And Driving A Motorcycle...

As we know it's called multi-tasking.
This Chinese woman was seen steering her moped through the busy streets of Yuzhou with one hand while holding her child as he was breastfeeding with the other.
The local traffic authorities, not impressed with her multi-tasking skills, thought that she was driving in a dangerous manner and decided to arrest her before she had an accident.
But officer she said, my little boy was hungry...

This Is One Of The World's Most Expensive And Ugliest Motorhomes...

I thought this monstrosity was the most badly designed piece of rubbish on the road when I featured it here in 2011 and the damned thing has reared it's ugly head again.
Now this, this abortion that's been described by some as a palace on wheels has gone on sale in Dubai for around two million pounds.
Or nearly four million dollars.
Some things get better looking with age but this forty foot long space age piece of ostentatious, tasteless kitsch on wheels by eleMMent
is not one of them.
Even with or perhaps because of its features here, its huge master bedroom, its pop-up cocktail bar and roof top terrace, the Palazzo remains one of the great road hazards to try and avoid. At all costs.
Give me a good old Beddy anytime...

A Beautiful Bedford Housetruck Named Agnes...

This beautiful Bedford housetruck seen
on The Tiny Life recently is very similar to the wonderful Rima Staine's gorgeous Horsebox housetruck that appears in Lloyd Kahn's fabulous Tiny Homes book.
Agnes, located somewhere in Cornwall has a marvelous drop down side door that can be used as a deck off the living area as well as some other delightfully designed features.
So why are you still living in a house...

Nearly 68,000 Happy Campers Celebrate Burning Man 2013 In Nevada's Black Rock Desert...

Over sixty thousand folk from all over the world converged on Nevada's Black Rock Desert for the twenty seventh annual Burning Man Festival.
Each year at the end of August the most enormous campsite is constructed far from civilisation and the thousands of Burning Man devotees come for a week to experience art, music and the unique community that the opportunity provides. And each year the whole area is meticulously cleaned of all rubbish by a group working the whole area shoulder to shoulder leaving the desert deserted of any human visitations.
The Flying Tortoise would have fun there...
