Another Laidback Bedford Rally...

Next weekend, Labour Weekend,
will see many beautiful Beddy's arriving from all over for this years Bedford Rally at Paeroa Racecourse.
Expect to see some wonderful and unusual housebuses, brimming with idiosyncratic individualism.
In other words, some really interesting and fun housebuses.
Their owners will be much the same.
Colourful characters who've been on the road for years, actually living the dreams of many.
See you there...

Imagination: More Important Than Knowledge...

So said Albert Einstein...
My friends Brian and Marge, poor things,
don't have a wood burner in their state-of- the-art housebus but they do have a fancy washing machine/tumble dryer.
They've sat in front of it on many a cold night wishing...
Now with a photo of my Little Cracker woodburner blazing away, stuck on the front of their appliance, they're as warm as toast as they sit and watch their television.
Imagine everything on a housebus needing to have two uses...

Definately Not Boring...

Just outside of Takaka
in the South Island's Golden Bay area,
is this delightfully colourful,
whimsical place.
What sort of character
do you think lives here...

Wonderful News...

The thirty three miners who've been trapped seven hundred metres underground for sixty nine days are now free!
But you probably know that already.
There are some wonderful things happening out there in the world.
This result has been one of them.
It's too nice not to share.
Here, Florencio Avalos, the first miner freed is jubilantly embraced by Chilie's President, Sebastian Pinera.
Welcome to Life Brave Miners!

Simple Delights...

Aren't roadside stalls simply wonderful!
My favourite places to stop 'n shop.
This one with the friendly lady giving out delicious grapes is mostly parked up on the road outside Uretiti Beach camping grounds.
Fresh strawberries, oranges, apples, avodados, peaches, mmm yummy.
How could you possibly drive past those wonderful goodies.
A lot of people don't...

Cheers...

Tito Ingenien lives in the city of Quilmes, just south of Buenos Aires.
This amazing man has crafted a huge home out of six million empty beer bottles over the last nineteen years.
I'm surprised he's been able to stand up long enough to build this place.
Tito's evidently still drinking and still building.
I don't know if he does the two things at the same time.
He says the neighbours consume a lot of beer and save their empties for him.
Tito's at www.treehugger.com
Call in and have a drink with the man.
It's my shout...

Hello. Are You There...

There's a marvellous little restaurant near Collingwood in the South Island's Golden Bay area called 'The Mussel Inn'.
You can leave your mobile phone outside.
On the Phonetree.
Don't expect it to ring again though.
Oh, there it goes...
Hello. Who is it calling?
I think it's for you...
