We've had roller skates. Remember the first ones that were attached to your shoes with straps. And then the more advanced version that were attached to boots called roller blades. Then there were inline skates, various Segways, electric bikes and scooters, skateboards and now, looking more like a laptop on wheels,
we have the WalkCar.
Apple will probably produce one called iwalk.
It's a tiny platform that you stand on, you turn it by simply transferring your weight from one side to the other and if you weigh less than 265lbs it might transport you, if you're lucky, 7.4 miles at 6mph. At a cost of around $800.
Remember good old fashioned walking...

The Air Wheel. A Fun Way To Get From Here To There And Back Again...
The Air Wheel, it's a fun way to get from A to B, perhaps even to C and D, if you're really adventurous, to G or even Q and if you're lucky, back home again.
It will take more than a couple of minutes
to learn to ride but more than three hundred thousand of the Chinese made machines have been sold at 429 British pounds each since the product hit the pavements last year.
There's more about it here.
Walking evidently is just so last century...

The Halfbike. A New Alternative Cycling Concept...
We see the Halfbike as a minimalist alternative for inner city folk tired of traffic holdups and who want another sort of commuting experience says Martin Angelov, inventor of the Halfbike and co-founder with Mihail Klenov of Kolelinia Lab.
Essentially a tricycle, that you stand up on, it combines the functions of pedaling and braking with the upright steering position of a Segway.
There are as with most things, pluses and minuses. It's great for fitness, visability and excellent control on those short commuter trips.
To steer, simply lean in the direction you want to turn and go for it.
It's easy too, to take on public transport or to carry by hand. It's not so good for bringing home shopping from the supermarket.
There's more about it here and it's for sale here.
But no, not at half price...
