Kat O'Sullivan's Amazing Technicolour World...

New York based artist Kat O'Sullivan's house, which is more like a psychedelic retreat,
featured here about three years ago when it was a work in progress.
It still is and likely to be forever.
And so too is anything this colourful character applies her wonderful wacky art to.
Kat is someone with a great sense of humour who does not do boring, applying a zillion shades of brilliance to everything around her.
You can check out the wonderful upcycled sweaters and clothing she's been creating for over twenty years here...

Life Is All About Choices Says Colourful Caren...

Life says my hermit Pisces friend Caren,
is all about choices.
I've made mine and there's been some funny paths I've been down but the choices to go there were all mine.
I've got everything I want and nothing much I don't she says laughing as she clears a space to sit saying I must take all that to the op-shop.
Caren rents a little property on the Hawkes Bay coastline and she, her two dogs, her housebus and the little cottage are often buffeted by the strong Eastery winds and big seas.
And Caren the colourful artist toughs it out
and calls for more.
People call me alternative she says.
I call them alternative...

Oh Danny Boy That's A Bonny Wee Housetruck...

Oh Danny that surely is a gorgeous little housetruck you've made for yourself there.
Danny lives in the Golden Bay area at the top of New Zealand's South Island and he and his wee truck are well known identities in the area.
There's plenty of alternative lifestylers, bohemians, artists, musicians, and very interesting folk in and around Nelson, Motueka, Takaka and Collingwood areas and Danny is just one of the many colourful characters...

John's Tiny House Is In A Bush. On A Beach Somewhere...

John is another of life's colourful characters
I've been lucky to meet up with recently.
He's literally been going bush for a long long time, living a life most of us just couldn't imagine.
I won't let on where his home is but the bush
you see here is it.
Very few know his little house exists and certainly the local authorities don't.
Not surprisingly he's created a livable interior from discarded bits and pieces he's found at the local dump.
John's a longtime fisherman, itinerant, raconteur and wonderfully amusing character.
Another man happy having plenty of nothing.
It's been a delight to have been in his company...

The Wonderful Painted Ladies Of San Francisco...

The wonderful painted ladies of San Francisco aren't your usual sort of street girl.
For a start they're all about a hundred and twenty years old but beautifully preserved.
You'll find these gorgeous old girls on Steiner Street over from Alamo Park.
Just some of the thousands of Victorian beauties built in the mid to late 1890's during San Francisco's boom time.
There's more to know here on Amusing Planet...

Brandon Stanton's Wonderful Humans Of New York Blog...

I got my first glimpse into Humans Of New York on Lloyd's Blog the other day.
New York is a fantastic place and one of my favourites having been there a few times.
I just had to look to see if I recognised anyone.
Brandon Stanton began HONY back in the summer of 2010 as a result of an idea to construct a photographic census of the city's diverse and colourful inhabitants.
He set out to photograph ten thousand New Yorkers and plot their photos on a map of the city. The idea morphed into something different.
He began collecting little stories, quotes and began including them alongside the images.
Brandon's wonderful vibrant Humans Of New York Blog is the result.
It's a great blog. It's so, human...
