This Very Stylish Architect's Home And Office Is Less Than Eight Feet Wide...

Pieter Peerlings and Silvia Mertens of sculpt(IT) a young progressive team of creative architects, were given the task of turning a piece of narrow, waste space between two buildings into a usable, livable, workable space.
They did. With a lot of style.
The whole four floor structure is hung in a steel skeleton with solid wooden floors separating the spaces. The stairs are a one piece structure.
The downstairs, ground floor is the office, dining's on the first, relaxing on the second, sleeping on the third and if you want a bath under the stars, try the top floor...

  1. Great space utilization package. They don't have to commute to work every day and the workout centre is built right in with all those stairs. No excuses for not exercising either since there's no getting around it. Unless you want to phone in for pizza every day then sleep on your desk afterwards.

  2. Seems like a good use of space, but what about privacy? I'd want blinds or curtains or shoji panels for those windows, at least some of the time.

  3. I saw this last year and still don't know what I think about it except that it's very creative.

  4. I was there, until I saw the shower and toilet right next to the bed. I am assuming that the glass front walls (and perhaps the walls around the shower) are made from that glass panel that turns opaque at the flick of a switch.
