Colin's Coastal Cabin is a delight.
He's recently shared the story about the building of his tiny home on wheels here on Kent Griswold's Tiny House Blog.
Built of mostly recycled materials with some beautiful rich natural timber features, the tiny self sufficient home on wheels has been designed with living well as top of mind.
It's a simple and imaginative tiny home.
Do have a look...

In New Zealand Some Families Are Given $100 To Grow Their Own Vegetable Gardens...

Some families in New Zealand are being given a hundy to grow their own vegetable gardens.
Hand Over A Hundy is a wonderfully simple and creative initiative conceived originally by Jade Temepara in 2010.
This is how Hand Over A Hundy works.
It's a one year challenge to young families to learn to grow their own vegetable.
Learning to produce their own produce.
They're sponsored with a Hundy ($100) to buy all the essentials for these gardens.
They're also offered the option of a mentor to help with the project.
The challenge is for them to recoup their money through savings or selling extra produce from their garden.
Then and this is so great, then they hand over a Hundy to a new family at the end of the year.
To equip more families with knowledge to pass on to the next generation.
This is such a win win situation.
Jade Temepara is an inspiring young woman who should be very proud of her idea that will keep on growing.
You can see her here as she appeared on TED recently...

Portugal's Little Village Of Monsanto Where People Live Between A Rock And A Hard Place...

No no no, we're not talking about the controversial multinational agricultural biotech corporation who wants to change the world using genetically modified plants. No no no.
We're talking here about the gorgeous little village way off the tourist maps but is worth the effort to visit, that in 1938 was referred to as The Most Portuguese Village In Portugal.
The little village featuring tiny streets carved out of rock and that are just wide enough for a donkey to make its way along them.
The lovely little historical village that due to building restrictions mean that Monsanto's appearance hasn't changed in centuries and has managed to maintain it's original charm.
There's nothing charming or appealing about the other Monsanto...

Lui Lingchao Is The Snail Man. His Tiny House Could Be The Ultimate Mobile Home...

Lui Linchao also known as The Snail man may have created the ultimate tiny mobile home.
The bamboo frame wrapped in plastic that the thirty eight year old migrant worker carries on his shoulders with all his worldly possessions and weighs about 60kg. It's the third one he's built as he makes his way at a snails pace of about eighty kilometers a year back to his family home in Tantou town in China's Guangxi Region.
Lui collects and recycles rubbish to make money for his travelling and living expenses.
He's been on the road for five years and really enjoys his unconventional living arrangement.
It gives me freedom he says...
