Lizzie Velasquez Has Been Called The World's Ugliest Woman. She's Also The Most Courageous...

Lizzie Velasquez knows what it's like to be ridiculed and bullied.
From childhood onwards she's suffered the taunts of others in her neighborhood and from cyber bullies from around this sometimes very unpleasant world.
As a seventeen year old, she came across a video of herself on YouTube that described her as The World's Ugliest Woman.
Now twenty six this beautiful, inspirational and courageous woman has hit back with an anti-bullying doco about her life describing her battle with the rare condition called Marfan Syndrome and Lipodystrophy which doesn't allow her to put on weight. At five foot two, Lizzie weighs only fifty eight pounds.
She made an amazing public debut on TED and is now starring in A Brave Heart, her own story...

In New Zealand Some Families Are Given $100 To Grow Their Own Vegetable Gardens...

Some families in New Zealand are being given a hundy to grow their own vegetable gardens.
Hand Over A Hundy is a wonderfully simple and creative initiative conceived originally by Jade Temepara in 2010.
This is how Hand Over A Hundy works.
It's a one year challenge to young families to learn to grow their own vegetable.
Learning to produce their own produce.
They're sponsored with a Hundy ($100) to buy all the essentials for these gardens.
They're also offered the option of a mentor to help with the project.
The challenge is for them to recoup their money through savings or selling extra produce from their garden.
Then and this is so great, then they hand over a Hundy to a new family at the end of the year.
To equip more families with knowledge to pass on to the next generation.
This is such a win win situation.
Jade Temepara is an inspiring young woman who should be very proud of her idea that will keep on growing.

Hannah Brencher Thinks We Should Write Love Letters To Strangers...

Hannah Brencher's family always wrote letters to each other, yes letters, with a pen, on paper, and using stamps, and envelopes, posted them, yes, to each other.
And these letters would arrive at the delighted recipients mail box.
Hannah started writing letters as a kind of therapy when at university. She'd write love letters and leave them for strangers to find.
Then, in the course of a year she wrote and mailed out over 400 hand penned letters.
Her random acts of love and kindness soon turned into a global initiative.
This lovely lady who also writes a blog. She believes in the power of the pen on paper and has started The World Needs More Love Letters which simply encourages strangers to exchange love letters.
