How To Make A Simple Fun And Efficient Potter's Wheel...

Where there's a wheel there's a way.
And this I'm sure you'll agree is a very simple way to make an efficient potters wheel.
As long as you can access a small vehicle and don't mind or have the ability to throw a pot on the horizontal.
It shouldn't be difficult. Should it?
What with necessity being
the mother of invention and all that.
Looks simple enough to me...

Ethan Schlussler And His Ingenious Bicycle Powered Treehouse Elevator...

Firstly Ethan Schlussler from Sandpoint Idaho built his wonderful treehouse.
About thirty feet above the ground.
Then he says without wishing to exaggerate, he got tired with climbing up and down a ladder six and a half million times a day to access his delightful but not completed treehouse.
Knowing all about necessity being the mother of invention, he came up with this novel way of solving the problem.
You can see how it works here.
Personally I'd have used another method but Ethan being a fan of Frank Sinatra simply said,
I did it my way...

Commuter Transport. Where There's Always Room For One More...

In some countries, traveling to work or school and back on commuter transport can be a very risky business.
A person literally takes their lives in their hands, presuming they have one or two, in order to hang on to whatever or whoever they can.
Tickets please...

A Fun And Novel Way To Make Hot Running Water...

You know what they say about necessity being the mother of invention.
Well some enterprising lateral thinking and creative soul came up with this novel way to make hot running water.
Not that the water's going to be very hot and nor is it going to run very fast but hey, it's one way to make a califont and get yourself into a bit of hot water...

This Bolivian Lawyer Builds Homes For The Poor Out Of Recycled Plastic Bottles...

The Bolivian lawyer or perhaps it should be the Garbage Lawyer Ingrid Vaca Diez, is on a mission to build better homes for the poor.
In Bolivia, nearly fifty percent of the population lives below the poverty line. Housing's a huge problem here as many are unable to live in suitable accommodation.
Once again we see necessity being the mother of invention and with meagre funds and little support, Ingrid creates homes out of the only resource she can find in abundance.
So far she's designed and built ten homes, with six being in Warnes, a town in Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Bolivia, and another in Roldan, a town in Santa Fe province, Argentina.
The bottles are filled with dirt, those are her bricks and her houses may use thirty six thousand each. To colour her homes, this resourceful woman uses a combination of expired milk powder, horse manure, linseed oil, cattle blood, cane molasses or just
whatever she can find.
The floors are made from chopped up old tyres.
There's more about Ingrid's mission here in a twenty five minute video.
Perhaps more lawyers will give up their day jobs and build houses for the poor.
The world might be a better place...

Overloaded Vehicles? Perhaps. Just A Little...

Overloaded. Well just marginally perhaps. In places like India, China and many Asian countries, people are compelled by need to use methods that would be frowned upon in the western world. There'd be traffic infringement officers having a field day handing out fines.
But not here.
Life is harder but more accommodating.
Necessity is the mother of invention and these folk know how to improvise anything to suit their needs and they work hard for a meagre amount of money.
There's many more images of overloaded people and overloaded vehicles but I couldn't fit them all in...
