Expect a kitchen sink to come in with the next wave. Surfing isn't like it used to be, especially in this remote bay in Indonesia's Java, where villagers, without any waste disposal infrastructure, get rid of their waste in the area's streams and rivers.
We have to stop rubbishing the world's waters...

Indonesia Ten Years On From The Mud And Mayhem Of The Boxing Day Tsunami...

The Boxing Day Tsunami in 2004 killed more than 230,000 people in South East Asia with Indonesia suffering the worst with 130,000 confirmed dead and more than a million poor souls displaced, their lives shattered.
Now ten years on from the one hundred foot waves that resulted from the third largest earthquake ever recorded with a magnitude of 9.3, Indonesia and its people have risen from the metaphorical ashes and life, has returned to some semblance of order...

The Beautiful All Black Ayam Cemani. It's Known As The Lamborghini Of Poultry...

The Ayam Cemani in case you didn't know,
is the most rare and exotic chicken breed in the world. Hence the unusual title of The Lamborghini of Poultry.
I'm delighted to inform you of these facts because it's vitally important that you know.
Everything about this poultry is black. The feathers are black with a greenish purple metallic sheen. The comb, the toe nails, the skin, the flesh, the bones, even the marrow, the eyes, the tongue and all its internal organs. Weird don't you think. They get their colouring from a generic trait known as Fibromelanosis, which is a mutation that existed in Asia more than eight hundred years ago.
Originating from the Indonesian island of Java, the Ayam, meaning chicken in Indonesian, Cemani, meaning completely black in Javanese, is known to have mystical powers and have been used for sacrificial rituals and in the making of medicines with some folk believing that owning one can bring fortune and luck.
And if you're lucky enough to have a fortune
you may consider buying one. A juvenile pair will sell for around $2,000 and a grown Cemani, ready to lay its beautiful large cream coloured eggs, around $2,500.
And no, these chickens do not cross roads...

The Citarum. The Most Polluted River In The World...

You'd be forgiven for not realising that the young man and his little  boat were floating in water.
Because you can't see any.
They appear to be floating in a sea of garbage. Plastic garbage.
This is the Citarum River in Indonesia.
The dirtiest river in the world.
Around five million people live in the river's basin in West Java and what's even harder to comprehend is that they rely on its flow for their water supply.
The river is also used to support agriculture, fishery, industry and electricity. Amazing.
A five hundred million dollar proposal to clean up the river is supposedly underway and there's more to the dirty story here.
The pollution has been caused, as always, by man, who has a lot to answer for but as usual who takes little responsibility and nothing much to say...

An Amazing Green Roofed City In The Sky Above Indonesia's Jakarta. A Hotchpotch Or A Pie In The Sky...

An international design team led by MVRDV have collaborated to create this amazing 400 metre tall city in the sky named Peruri 88.
The photos are so good that it looks like the real thing and not some pie in the sky.
But that's all it is. For now.
Another monument to Mammon it may be
but it's a conglomeration of several different buildings stacked atop, juxtaposed if you like, at different angles to create this, this hotchpotch or depending where you come from,
a hodge-podge...
