He's 101. She's 103. They Pose For Their Wedding Photos Eighty Eight Years After Getting Married...

Centenarian couple Wu Conghan aged one hundred and one and his wife Wu Sognshi who's one hundred and three, live in Nanchong in China's Sichuon Province and were married there in 1924.
There were few if any cameras around in those days but now thanks to the generosity of some local photographers who are going around taking photos of elderly couples, Wu and Wu will finally have some lasting memories of their big day eighty eight years ago.
So now they'll have something to look back on when they're older...

Turkey's Lady In Red Becomes A Reluctant Heroine And Freedom Icon...

As the Republic of Turkey traverses the sometimes painful path to democracy, with protesters proclaiming their rights, Istanbul's University of Urban Planning research assistant Ceyda Sungor has become a reluctant heroine and Turkey's newest freedom icon.
This is the image that shows her being pepper sprayed by one of Turkey's big brave riot policemen.
According to Prime Minister Tayyip Erdegan she is one of the extremists living arm in arm with terrorists who are attempting to destroy Turkey.
The protest in which three people have already been killed and more than a thousand admitted to hospital started with the public demonstrating against the destruction of trees and the construction of a shopping complex at Taksim Square's Gezi Park in the heart of Istanbul.
And the Reuters photographer who shot the now iconic image appears to have suffered self inflicted head injuries... 

The Big Banana Car Travels The World...

Well that's the idea, Steve, one half of the Braithwaite Brothers told me a while ago.
Spade and I are planning to leave the US in our Big Banana sometime in June and take one of two routes around the world. We haven't decided on which one yet. Somewhere between here and there we'll either turn left or right.
It should be a fun journey.

From the top we have the 1910 Edison-Puton Monowheel built in Paris and powered by a 150cc De Dion Engine.
Then there's Swiss engineer Mr Gerdes astride or nearly inside his 1931 one wheel motorcycle that he attempted to travel from Switzerland to Spain. He was last seen in France.
And then we have Englishman Dr John Archibald Purves with his 1932 Dynospere.

With Montreal's marvelous Cirque du Soleil in mind, the British Performance Collective Acrojou celebrates the concept of thinking big and living small. Their wheel house is 2ft 6ins wide and 7ft high. They've an act that features a delightful steampunk wheel house that literally rolls on its way, taking Jeni Barnard and Barney White on a magical metaphorical journey that embraces daily life, love and partnership.
Audiences are able to wander about the tiny wheel house as the couple perform their masterful street art.

Over Nineteen Hundred Canoes And Kayaks Make Up The World's Largest Floating Raft...

It was September 24, 2011 and more than twenty two hundred paddlers made their way to the shores of the Adirondack town of Inlet New York to form the world's largest floating raft made up of nineteen hundred and two canoes and kayaks and set a new Guinness World Record.
The event called One Square Mile Of Hope was organised by Connie Perry and raised more than $80,000 toward Breast Cancer research.
