The Tonke Classic Range Of Mobile Homes Is Something Simply Special...

You'll know that I'm not a big fan of production campers, RV's, mobile homes, motorhomes, call them what you will.
But I have to say that I really like what Tonke are doing. There, I've said it.
I guess they'll send me a free one now.
I've been going to feature them for a while and when I received their latest newsletter I knew the time had come, I couldn't wait any longer.
Apart from some really good design features, it's their use of warm wonderful wood that does it for me. It's simply superb.
I've featured the Tonke Classic/Fieldsleeper1 here but there's more in their range.
Have a look here. See if they do it for you...

The Dobbertin Surface Orbiter. Not Your Usual Motorhome...

The Dobbertin Surface Orbiter
is not your usual sort of motorhome.
Fabricated completely from marine grade stainless steel, the thirty two foot DSO was designed to circumnavigate the earth over land and sea without any type of support vessel.
Project Earth Trek was a twenty eight country Amphibious Adventure covering 30,000 land miles and 3,000 sea miles.
Freedom Camping all the way.
Hop out of your armchair and look here
at what Rick Dobbertin and his wife Mary who live in Pennellville NY achieved.
It was probably more fun than staying home...

When You're Seriously Serious About All-Terrain Freedom Camping...

When you've made up your mind to leave home. When you're seriously serious about getting away from it all and partaking in some real
freedom camping.
When you want to leave the tarseal to the timorous and really get self sufficient, then you'll want an all-terrain motorhome.
On second thoughts, motorhome isn't quite the right turn of phrase but you know what I mean.
These machines will take you anywhere.
Should you want to go there. And back...

The Colim Caravan. A Simple And Clever Concept...

The brainchild of German designer Christian Susana, the Colim (Colours Of Life In Motion) Camper is a simple and very clever example of thinking outside the square.
It's a very intelligent idea for the mobile home,
a combination of the caravan, fifth wheeler and motorhome.
The Colim has the advantages of a caravan
and the advantages of a motorhome all neatly morphed onto one creative concept.
The little detachable vehicle seats two and is reminiscent of the 'Smart Car' you've seen on the roads.
For now the Colim is only a concept but I'd expect someone will manufacture it soon.
There's more here...

A Home On Wheels. If You Can Dream It, You Can Do It...

Some homes on wheels to delight and perchance inspire you.
Some little, big and in between, housebuses
and housetrucks, homes on the road, full time or just for a few weeks here or sometimes there.
From the simple to the complex, there's something for everyone.
Life on the road, on a journey to somewhere.
If you can dream it, you can do it...
