Meet The Most Wonderfully Fashionable Frenchman Featured On The Sartorialist...

This wonderfully dapper, eccentrically fashionable Frenchman on the Avenue du President Wilson in Paris featured recently on Scott Schuman's The Sartorialist Blog.
Is it his amazing eye glasses I love the most or is it his gorgeous hat.
I don't know but isn't he just one of life's great individual fashion statements...

A Man And His Dog Should Never Be Parted...

Academic, eccentric anthropologist,
teacher and loving pet owner Grover Krantz
died in 2002 but not before bequeathing his body to the Smithsonian and science.
I've been a teacher all my life. I could remain one after I'm dead, so take my body. Oh there's a condition said Krantz to Smithsonian anthropologist David Hunt, you have to keep my dog with me.
So after he died, his body was taken to the University of Tennessee's Body Farm where human remains are studied.
And now and for the next couple of years, in a pose inspired by a photo of the two best friends, Grover's skeleton, and that of Clyde, his giant Irish Wolfhound will be on display for all to see.
An inspiration for many no doubt...

Anna Piaggi. Italian Fashion Writer And Style Icon. She Wore Purple. And Red Hats...

I visit The Satorialist most days.
Founder and Photographer Scott Schuman is The Satorialist and his blog is one of the leading and most influential in the fashion world.
It was there on August 7, 2012, the day she died, that I met and fell in love with Anna Piaggi and her totally gorgeous, outrageous syle.
Scott featured the wonderful image above and two others as a tribute to her that day.
You can see them here.
Anna Piaggi had passed away aged eighty one at her home in Milan.
The world will miss this fashion grande dame, famed for her blue hair and fabulously eccentric sense of being alive...
