There's A Tree In This Kazakhstan House Concept By Almasov Aibek...

We love the idea of living in a tree house and there's a wonderful variety of tree house ideas to choose from. But here's a different concept.
Kazakhstan based architect Almasov Aibek has designed this cylindrical glass house of four levels, each separated by a wooden floor with a tree growing through the middle of the entire structure.
There's more about it here.
Accommodating two people, the house, due to be completed next year, will be located in the Almaty area and will have very little privacy but evidently great views.
People in glass houses. I guess they won't be throwing stones...

Aaron Maret's Beautiful And Simple Rustic Home On Wheels Is Inspirational...

Aaron Maret is a self professed design geek.
It shows.
His little Pocket Shelter house on wheels made from recycled materials is an inspiration to all.
It's certainly one of the most beautiful I've seen and may well be seen as a benchmark for others to aspire to.
It's been five years in the making and the long gestation period for all sorts of reasons, lack of finance being one, does allow new ideas to form on ideas and so on. Often the best results are obtained by working slowly, it certainly gives space to find recyclable materials that will be needed.
Aaron and his partner are passionate about small spaces and simple living and ideas from treehouses and boats have also inspired the outcome of this wonderful home.
One of the things I love most about the interior is the use of timber slabs with free formed edges.
Have a look at how he's used this beautiful natural product throughout this unique space. Don't miss the cooktop bench with the angled cooker. Great design and wonderful attention to detail.
I could rave about this little house all day but I'll resist the urge.
Do look here for more information though.
Congratulations Aaron...

The Treehouses Of Japanese Designer Carpenter Tokashi Kobayashi...

Sometimes I wonder says Tokashi Kobayashi, where I'd be now if, sixteen years ago I hadn't moved to that little wooden apartment in the back alleys of Harajuku.
I think about the living Himalaya Cedar I found there and how my life changed.
What is it that attracts anyone to treehouses? I've come to think the answer lies in the vitality of the trees. Everlasting life.
Treehouse building has taken me to forests and woodlands across Japan and around the globe. And everywhere I've seen the same nameless light I've had within myself for so many years.
I have the desire to share it with as many people as possible. And I will continue with the one-of-a-kind treehouse creations.
My companion is life itself and as long as there are undiscovered trees still waiting...
Takashi is a self taught designer carpenter of over 120 bespoke treehouses in Japan. Interestingly in that country there are regulations prohibiting people sleeping in them overnight.
I don't have one of my own says Takashi, that is my dream, to stay in my own treehouse and enjoy the quiet moments...

Life Can Be So Damn Tiring...

I'm exhausted. Another hard day at the office.
The usual hunting and gathering and bringing enough home for the wife and kids to eat.
Made just enough sales to probably pay the mortgage on the treehouse for another month, then had to take the car in for repairs, that'll cost an arm and someone's leg, then there's the doctor's bill, one of the kids is keeping us awake all night with teething problems and now he's coming out in spots...

A Tiny Treehouse...

High in the tree there was a tiny treehouse.
Maybe a birdhouse.
Or was it two or maybe three or four and maybe even one more...
