What a great idea!! I like them.
ReplyDeleteOh! It's brilliant in a very crazy way. I could actually feel my computer keys turn back into typewriter keys for a moment there.
ReplyDeleteFantastic! I love old typewriters. What a great and innovative idea......
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this! Thanks so much, I had no idea such a thing existed!
ReplyDeleteTerrible idea! The great virtue of a mechanical typewriter is that it frees you from dependency on power sources. This is like running your sailboat on a 150 horsepower Diesel engine, treating rig and sails as nothing more than cute quaint appurtenances.
ReplyDeleteHaving learned to type on machines very like those depicted, I'm afraid I'd have no desire to "go retro" using one to interface with my computer.
ReplyDeleteHowever - There is another option. Jake VanSlatt has been "Steampunking" a variety of modern devices to nostalgic appearances for many years. Have a look at some of the Steampunk Keyboards on his blog site, some by him, and others by contributors.
Ah, and Jake is a fellow bus conversion builder. It's very worth checking out some of the photos of his Victorian RV.
Found a much better and more fully featured page describing the construction of Jake's bus
ReplyDeleteThanks for all that...
