There's A Tree In This Kazakhstan House Concept By Almasov Aibek...

We love the idea of living in a tree house and there's a wonderful variety of tree house ideas to choose from. But here's a different concept.
Kazakhstan based architect Almasov Aibek has designed this cylindrical glass house of four levels, each separated by a wooden floor with a tree growing through the middle of the entire structure.
There's more about it here.
Accommodating two people, the house, due to be completed next year, will be located in the Almaty area and will have very little privacy but evidently great views.
People in glass houses. I guess they won't be throwing stones...

Another interesting house full of green living things. My lovely wife and I checked it out in our travels once.

  3. It's so beautiful, but I think reflection and contemplation is about all they will be doing there. As I look around my own spacious accommodation I see a shower, a toilet, radio, pots and pans......but when I mentally transpose all those items to this desirable dwelling, well it looks neither minimalist nor lovely. Al well, that's one daydream I can eliminate today.

  4. Uhhh, Riiight....

Really, Keith, we should all chip in and buy you a reality filter for your computer so you cease wasting valuable internet bandwidth repeating other people's crappy fantasy 'vaporware' dwellings from around the web.

...just being snarky, as usual. You do post interesting stuff. Mostly that is. This isn't one of them.

  5. I like the fantasy of it. I do wonder about practicalities like interior temperature control, snow loads, and the obvious privacy issue. Considering your immediately prior post, how does one answer nature's call without being observed and possibly photographed as part of the interesting forest fauna on a David Attenborough TV special?
