When Green Isn't Green...

And now a global study of the forest industry by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation has found that trees
do not abosrb CO2.
They emit CO2.

  1. Do you mean they produce an excess of CO2 over what they intake as part of their normal respiration?

  2. Well I'm now confused... I thought they absorbed during the day and emitted at night... and I guess they have to absorb in order to emit... This study says they only emit Co2...

  3. The Forestry industry is a NET emitter of Co2. The study shows that in 2007 it emitted about 420 million tonnes of Co2 or 1.4% of global emissions.
