This confusing and crazy cube house is also very concerning. Visually it's a disconcerting hotchpotch and you'd be forgiven if you thought there was a few houses here. I really can't make up my mind if it's interesting or not but it does nothing for me, I think it's incredibly ugly and I'm sure the builders had nightmares figuring out how to build the strangely shaped structure.Whatever, the Crazy Cube House as it's known is situated in the centre of Rotterdam and is available for rent.

ReplyDeleteMost houses are cubes - that is, they're based on rectangular geometry. The main dif here is that these cubes are each resting in a vertex, rather than on a face of the cube (aka a hexahedron). If it were a different polyhedron, you might wind up with a geodesic dome. It's just cultural conditioning that makes us think box-like houses are "normal." The earliest shelters typically had circular floor plans.
