Merry Christmas. Happy Hanukkah.
Like many, I'll again make a stand against consumerism in this somewhat silly season of conspicuous consumption.
Yesterday in this little country of New Zealand, consumers created a new retailing record by making one hundred and forty eight sale transactions a second. And in doing so, many put themselves further into a debt spiral they won't recover from.
I send wishes of love and goodwill to you all...

Top of the season to you!
ReplyDeletePeople tend to forget that you don't necessarily have to buy Xmas presents; you can make them.
I like to remind my fundamentalist neighbors that Mithras is the reason for the season.
Thanks for the good wishes, Keith. I am sure that all of us who read your blog want the same for you too. You keep us inspired, informed, entertained and amused. What a super present for the holidays and the new year.
ReplyDeleteYou reaffirm the saying: The best things in life are not things.
You said this as well as it could be said. Especially the last bit!

ReplyDeletePeace to you.

ReplyDeleteThe best Christmas my family ever had was when we were totally broke and had almost nothing for presents. Everyone knew, so the pressure was off. Now we keep it small, and it's great.
