This little Pixie Cabin might just
be the cutest thing you ever see on two wheels.
It's featured on Tiny House Swoon .
Built in Surrey in the UK, mainly from leftover bits of timber, discarded pallets, broken boxes, logs, trees and old tools, it is in a word, simply gorgeous. Ok that's two words...

The Steely Cottage. It Has Everything That's Needed And Nothing That Isn't...

Everything that's needed and nothing that's not. That's the philosophical approach Ben Bartwell took when planning and building his tiny two hundred square foot house on a flatbed trailer.
There's more to know about The Steely Cottage here but it's a house designed and built for self sufficient living.
The little house is totally off grid and is complete with a composting toilet, a do-it-yourself pressurised water system and a vacuum tube solar water heater.
When the weather's cold there's a wood stove but evidently the house is naturally warm due to the passive solar build.
But the thing I like most is the recycled Corten sheets that've been used to clad the house and are already rusting to wonderful autumnal tones. They'll be pretty much maintenance free for ever.
And forever is quite a long time...

John's Gorgeous Rustic Tiny Truck Camper Featured On Tiny House Swoon...

Steven over at Tiny House Swoon often has some visual delights to, well, that you want to swoon over.
This gorgeous rustic tiny bed camper caught my eye. It appears to only really have space for a bed and who knows, perhaps some cooking facility too. It's simplicity of design and purpose appealed to me.
John built it for him and his girlfriend to go traveling with last winter.
They appear to have their priorities sorted.
I bet they had fun...

Blanche Russell's Unique Stone House In Arizona's Marble Canyon...

Blanche Russell, sometime in 1927, was driving in the desolate Balancing Rocks, Vermilion Cliffs area around Arizona's Marble Canyon when her car broke down.
So the not to be fazed lady simply camped there overnight.
Deciding she loved the splendid isolation, the solitude, the scenery and the endless blue sky, she and her husband Bill bought some land and in the 1930's established a camp and a small trading company at Soup Creek and proceeded to build this unique stone house and its' attendant outbuildings.
I was out wandering as one does and found it featured on Tiny House Swoon.
Nowdays Blanche and Bill's house is called Cliff Dwellers Lodge and welcomes visitors with its delightfully quirky design.

A Tiny Home In A Dumpster...

Wandering as I do around some weird and wonderful neighbourhoods and interesting sites, this tiny home in a dumpster bin caught my eye over at Tiny House Swoon.
It was built by Gregory Kloehn as a bit of a challenge to see how luxurious he could make it. You can see more about it here, and there's a video to take you on a guided tour.
To some it could well be luxury living.
It has a roof and it's weather-proof.
It's got a stainless steel kitchen, an outdoor barbeque, an awning, a toilet of course and will you look at the outdoor shower set-up.
I'm not sure about the location location location but that could change and no home would be complete without a flower garden...
