Soda and other sugary drinks are directly linked to obesity, a major contributor to coronary heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes, some cancers and a definite cause of psychosocial problems.
Each year the average American, British, Australian and New Zealanders have the dubious distinction of leading the world's developed countries in drinking gallons and gallons of the sugary rubbish.
All of it with little if any nutritional value.
Greedy supermarkets price healthy drinks like milk or water much higher than the popular and unhealthy soda drinks.
Stupid isn't it...

One could argue that they're fighting overpopulation. Or that they're helping get us to heaven quicker!
ReplyDeleteThe truth is that milk (in it's processed, homogenized, American form) isn't all that healthy either, most juices are as nutritionally bereft as soda, and those "green drinks," unless freshly made at a juice bar, have been pasteurized and thus have no living enzymes to speak of.
The best bet is water (which is cheaper than soda here) or making your own juice.
