Introducing The Flying Bicycle.
It could well be the new novel way to get around.
It could also be an answer to traffic congestion, parking problems and road rage.
Built by British engineers, John Foden and Yannick Read the XploreAir Paravelo has recently completed its successful test flights and is the world's first flying bicycle.
It requires no license to fly and it's capable of cruising up to twenty five mph at a maximum altitude of four thousand feet.
For about three hours.
It's powered by a little biofuel-powered 249cc two-stroke motor and is steered by a flexible para wing. It's really like an ordinary bike with an attachable trailer fitted with a powerful fan.
When you land, simply detach the pieces and you've got an ordinary bicycle.
Well not too ordinary.
There's a lot more to like here.
If you're not scared of heights, The Flying Bicycle could be a lot of fun.

Sam's Isn't Your Normal Everyday Treehouse...

Sam Edwards, writer, adventurer, one time aide to President Jimmy Carter and also to Senator John Glenn, has a penchant for the unusual.
His wonderfully creative treehouse in which he's lived in since the early 1990's  reflects his eclectic tastes.
It houses a small ski boat, an aeroplane, a helicopter and a submarine that was used in an Elvis Presley movie.
Sam took the words The construction of one's home is the noblest of professions penned by Henry David Thoreau seriously, and it's now become his life's work and evidently the most well known treehouse in the world.
And if you didn't know that, you do now.
Sam's an interesting, hospitable man and welcomes visitors for a free tour of his treehouse, situated behind a Mexican restaurant at 360 Piedmont Street, Calhoun, Georgia.

Aaron Maret's Beautiful And Simple Rustic Home On Wheels Is Inspirational...

Aaron Maret is a self professed design geek.
It shows.
His little Pocket Shelter house on wheels made from recycled materials is an inspiration to all.
It's certainly one of the most beautiful I've seen and may well be seen as a benchmark for others to aspire to.
It's been five years in the making and the long gestation period for all sorts of reasons, lack of finance being one, does allow new ideas to form on ideas and so on. Often the best results are obtained by working slowly, it certainly gives space to find recyclable materials that will be needed.
Aaron and his partner are passionate about small spaces and simple living and ideas from treehouses and boats have also inspired the outcome of this wonderful home.
One of the things I love most about the interior is the use of timber slabs with free formed edges.
Have a look at how he's used this beautiful natural product throughout this unique space. Don't miss the cooktop bench with the angled cooker. Great design and wonderful attention to detail.
I could rave about this little house all day but I'll resist the urge.

Designed and built at the workshops of the Birmingham Small Arms Company in Great Britain in 1905, this very clever bicycle fire appliance was created for use in petrochemical plant fire outbreaks.
The siren is activated by moving the brake lever into its first position and the helmet sits on the rear carrier.
