A Fun And Novel Way To Make Hot Running Water...

You know what they say about necessity being the mother of invention.
Well some enterprising lateral thinking and creative soul came up with this novel way to make hot running water.
Not that the water's going to be very hot and nor is it going to run very fast but hey, it's one way to make a califont and get yourself into a bit of hot water...

How To Easily Make You Own, Very Cute, Space Saving, Vertical Garden Using Soda Bottles...

As part of a makeover programme called
Home Sweet Home, the design firm Rosenbaum and TV producer Luciano Huck made dramatic creative changes to dozens of Brazilian homes.
On the forty eighth house for some reason, probably because the opportunity presented itself, and, having the ability to think outside the square, they designed an amazing little vertical garden that was simply suspended in a narrow walkway outside the home.
I found this delightful garden idea on Colossal,  another of my favourite sites and
a wonderful place to find art and visual ingenuity.
Have a look there and here too, to see how easy it is to make your own...

The Little Country Of Uraguay Just Might Lead The World In Creative Gun Control By Swapping Bicycles For Illegal Firearms...

It's been found that gun buyback programmes
to reduce the number of firearms in circulation is not very effective in reducing street crime.
Or homicides
The small South American nation of Uraguay ranks ninth in the number of guns per capita in the world.
More than a million firearms, most of them unregistered are in the hands of the country's
3.3 million residents.
The country's leadership is known for thinking outside the square with surprising results and now their creative efforts have started the Weapons for Life programme.
Instead of people getting cash, Uraguay now gives a bicycle or a low-end computer for a person's firearms thereby improving the lives of those in illegal possession of weapons and the well-being of the nation as a whole.
It could be a win win situation. I hope so.
Other countries just might learn a lesson from little Uraguay...
