Michael Grab's beautifully balanced rock sculptures defy gravity.
Without any sort of ahesive element or material.
Michael featured here in 2012 and he continues to amaze with his playful love affair with
elements of nature.
There's more about him here too.
Balance, it's what we all need in our lives...

I've tried balancing rocks.....it's a nice way to spend time in nature - a bit like fishing. His work reminds me of Andy Goldsworthy's sculptures from nature. I find Michael's stuff a bit too busy - but the little arch is lovely.
ReplyDeleteA little gust of wind, and you are back with a pile of rocks. . .
ReplyDeleteNow that is really cool! Thanks for posting it.
ReplyDeleteMarvellous sculptures made by a man with magic fingers. Especially the bridges are beautiful. One on the video looks like an Venetian mask.
ReplyDeleteCairns they are called. Piling rocks on top of one another.
ReplyDeleteThere was a guy in San Diego when I was there in the mid 90's who used to do this along the foreshore as a busking attraction. It takes great skill and patience.
Incredible. Beautiful. Pip
