Napier Dentist Gary Winter Gives Free Emergency Dental Care For A Day...

It was the twelfth day before Christmas
and in the spirit of the season of goodwill Gary Winter from  DentalOnRaffles decided to give something back to the local Napier community.
Knowing full well how some people just cannot afford dental treatment, he and his staff worked all day giving around one hundred Hawkes Bay folk who arrived and enjoyed sharing the day, the sunshine and each other's company, free emergency dental care.
They filled more than thirty teeth and performed over one hundred extractions in what Gary says was the most gratifying and humbling experiences of his thirty eight year career.
And yes, it's definitely something they'll do again.
Good on you Gary and thankyou...

  1. Good start Gary - How about time banking? Each other life and person's time is worth the same as yours, how about charging what others earn per hour, plus overheads, if you like.

  3. A local dentist, Dr. Charles Korando has been doing this same thing yearly for quite a while. He has a great reputation in the area ~and~ the respect of the other dental care givers. Wonder why thy don't join him during the event?

    1. Another dentist has just been reported as doing the same thing here, it's a popular bandwagon to jump on for a dentist, good PR and everyone wins.
I think we may find more taking part in the the free dental day idea, it's good for the dentist's image and more importantly, it's good for the poor...

  4. Alabama provides this with volunteer work by committed dentists. The dentists are some of the best & most exclusive--at least, in Birmingham.
