Jill and Rob's 1951 Bedford Housetruck
Maid Of Dreams is one of the most beautiful traditionally styled housetrucks you'll see anywhere in the world today.
It featured here a while ago and now after many happy years of travelling around New Zealand, it's now someone else's turn to enjoy this remarkable and unique Gypsy Housetruck.
And live the dream.
There's more information about this wonderful grand old lady of the road here.
If you can dream it you can do it...

Very unique and beautiful. I've seen it around...
ReplyDeleteHaving driven 1950's trucks, you couldn't bribe me to take it on. Even on it's best day, it was a handful. Sixty years later, I shudder to imagine the "joys" of driving this old girl about the North Island. Still, quite the attractive museum piece.
ReplyDeleteWhat an absolutely gorgeous dwelling. Still, Wil's warning seems well taken. Perhaps that is the advantage of a vardo or other trailing wagons: once the motive vehicle is shot, you can hook up to another - or even to horses.
ReplyDeleteNice but agree with Wil---I, too, have driven 1950's trucks & they are a nightmare.
ReplyDeleteCould be ideal for a plot at AONC. I love it!...Jennybee
ReplyDeleteTotally agree:
