There's Some Very Interesting Homes On Wheels Out There...

As long as there's interesting people around, there'll be weird and wonderful, imaginative and innovative examples of anything and everything.
As our esteemed friend Albert Einstein said, imagination is more important than knowledge.
Some of these you may have seen before but there's bound to be a few new ones
that will take your fancy...

Kintsugi. The Japanese Method Of Creating Art From Broken Ceramic Objects...

Kintsugi or Kintsukuroi is the Japanese way of honoring and repairing broken ceramic objects with a special lacquer mixed with silver,
gold or platinum.
As a philosophy Kintsugi can be seen to have similarities to the Japanese philosophy of Wabi-Sabi, an embracing of the flawed or imperfect. Perfection being seen as the result of imperfection.
The damaged or flawed being honored as an essential in enhancing an object.
The beautiful pieces here were restored by Morti and Patty at the Lakeside Pottery and Ceramics Restoration Studio.
Kintsugi Do-It-Yourself kits are available also should you wish to embrace this particular
and beautiful art form...

The Bones Of The Largest Creature To Have Ever Existed Have Been Found In Argentina...

A local Patagonian farm worker who fortunately knew a femur from his little finger, just happened to be in an area well known for important dinosaur discoveries recently and came across some gigantic bones that had been just lying there waiting to be found for around
ninety five million years.
Hey mum look what I've found he shouted. Weighing more that he did, he could hardly drag the monster bone home and show her.
Palaeontologists say this Argentinian dinosaur would have measured 130 feet long and weighed in at 77 tonnes. It would have been the largest creature to have every walked on the earth. There's more about the exciting find here.
This dinosaur wouldn't be the sort of thing you'd want to meet up with on a dark night when you were coming home after a few drinks...

Karl Is Very Proud Of His 1947 Ford Housebus...

Karl is very proud of his 1947 Ford Housebus. And so he should be.
It's beautiful and turned my head when he arrived at the Department of Conservation's Matata Campground a few days ago.
It's his bach, which is a name New Zealander's give to their basic holiday homes.
He bought the bus way back in 1987 for two thousand dollars and has been all around the country more than a couple of times too.
Fortunately Karl's a mechanic and will be able to keep his pride and joy on the road
for a few more years yet.
The Hawkes Bay Motor Company were the original owners and Karl's bus
was their number thirty nine.
For Karl it will always be his number one...

Marie And Dean's Bluebird Housebus Has A VW Vanagon Perched On Top...

It's not a new concept but it's still a good one.
It might have been the result of Marie who owned the bus getting together with boyfriend Dean and combining their resources.
They're setting up a lifestyle to suit themselves on the Columbia River Gorge near Portland on the Pacific Northwest of the US.
Right now they're working on a greenhouse
and gardens, keeping rabbits and pigs, living an off grid life with solar, an outside toilet and shower and Marie's special honey using local bees and the Bluebird Apiary label.
Lifestyle choices.
They've got to be good for you...

Young Stan is no Couch Slouch.
Since taking up running twelve years ago, the Polish pensioner got a new zest for life.
Aged 104 he's just set a new European record for men in the Centenarians Event at an athletics meet at Wroclaw Stadium recently with a time of 32.79 seconds, one second faster than the previous record holder, a young Japanese man
aged only ninety six.
Stan's life has been an interesting one and you can read his autobiography here.
Stanislaw says he doesn't go to the doctor and he does everything and anything in his life
that pleases him.
I'm with you Stan the Man.
Well I would be if I could catch you...
