856 days ago Ed Stafford took his first steps on this amazing trek that would follow the length of the Amazon through four thousand miles in one of the world's most inhospitable continents.This thirty four year old former army Captain set off into the jungles of Peru on April 2, 2008 with a backpack, survival gear and a laptop.
He will complete this incredible journey in the next couple of days.
