I received this comment from Hanne Maja Christiansen and am compelled to share it.
It touches my heart and restores some faith in humanity. Thankyou, sons and daughters
of the Vikings.
"Well I wrote that the Germans could be proud
of themselves. The last day has made me proud of the the many Danes who are committing
Civil Disobedience.
They go up against the Danish government and the restrictive regulations concerning refugees.
On Monday evening and night, a lot of Danes started their cars and drove to the little island where refugees come into Denmark and start walking on the fields and along the roads.
The volunteers picked up a lot of refugees and transported them to Copenhagen or Sweden.
A Swedish reporter said that the policemen gave up and collectively went and ate dinner while the private cars were filled with refugees.
Others are giving food, clothes and a warm bed to refugees. A Danish woman has used her boat to transport refugees to Sweden. I certainly realise that people have stood up for what they believe is right. And show compassion.
Well done my brothers and sisters, sons and daughters of the Vikings".

We Shouldn't Forget To Remember This...
We shouldn't forget to remember
that there is such a thing as People Power.
We might exercise it more often...

This Elderly Chinese Couple Are Freedom Camping In The Middle Of The Motorway...
It wasn't always like this. Duck farmer Luo Baogen and his wife have been living in their house in China's city of Wenling in Zhejiang Province for a long time, and the authorities have built the motorway around the elderly couple's home.Because they've had to.
It's not that Luo and his wife enjoy living in the fast lane, but they refuse to leave until the government pays them a more generous amount to move.
And the couple are within their rights under The Republic of China's new laws making it illegal to demolish a property without a mutual agreement.
Power to The Little People...
Update. December 1 at 7.45 pm.
The house has now been demolished after Luo and his wife agreed to a compensation offer of 260,000 yuan.

Parklets. They're Coming To A Street Near You...
Parklets. They're small urban parks that once were a carpark or two and are now public spaces, created by providing seating, planters, grass and artworks. They're usually sponsored or hosted by a business in near proximity for citizens to relax in and enjoy the atmosphere of their city.
The first Parklet was created in 2005 as an unofficial activist project by the San Francisco based Rebar Art and Design Studio. They simply kept feeding a parking meter, unrolled a large grass sod and placed a few chairs, tables and planters around.
The simple idea whose time had come has taken off and now Parklets are reclaiming the streets...
