Mike Dodge is a legend in his own lunchtime. And he's evidently, according to National Geographic's television series The Legend Of Mick Dodge, the Pacific Northwest Survivalist.
Twenty five years ago, so the story goes,
Mick Dodge walked away from the modern world, leaving
civilization behind to live with nature's wonders in the Olympic
Peninsula.
Following a primal instinct present throughout generations of
his family, Mick ventured deep into the Hoh Rainforest, making his home
in the trees and hidden in the moss.
There's more here about the back to nature life of Mick
Dodge, a quirky character whose unique brand of Zen comes from living by
his own code. Off the land and off the grid.
And so the story goes, this wild man philosopher cleans his teeth with a pinecone...
Don't believe everything you see on TV.
ReplyDeleteOh Gorges, haha, how can you say such a thing.
DeleteI thought National Geographic were beyond reproach...
He left because his feet hurt! I love that.... ! Hurting feet are a sign of too much civisation - walking on pavements, squeezed into shoes etc etc. I love his story!
ReplyDeleteGood on Mick Dodge for dodging a lot of unnecessary hoo ha in our society. He is probably younger than he looks, so I wo'nt call him old Mick. He has a friend with a cooker as he eats chocolate chip cookies. Always good to keep balance in your life......Jennybee
ReplyDelete...yet he continues to bear the surname of an automobile company...?
ReplyDeleteDear Mr Studious Baker.
DeleteYes he does and he even has the Dodge marque tattooed on his left buttock but that proves nothing. I think if you resume your research you will find the name was given to him because of his ability to duck and dodge the many authorities who have been after him...
Here in the Pacific Northwest, we look out for Sastquash!
