Chloe And Brandon Used Old Movie Sets To Create A Marvelous Mobile Home...

Chloe Barcelou and Brandon Batchelder decided to build themselves a house on wheels with a difference, and where better they thought, to obtain some extraordinary ideas and materials than from some movie sets they'd worked on.
They spent a couple of months designing their home, being greatly influenced by old ships, railroad cars, stage coaches and gypsy caravans and then another nine months or so building their creative theatrical masterpiece.
All the world's their stage...

Built on the back of a 1975 vintage Dodge truck, it's been carefully and lovingly crafted with much attention to detail and advice from a UK based Romany restoration artist, this tiny house on wheels will be someone's next big adventure...

Lorna's Gorgeous Little 1930's Shepherd's Wagon...

Christina Nelleman has just written a delightful piece on Tiny House Blog about Lorna Benedict and how, from 1945, she lived in this gorgeous little horse-pulled Shepherd's Wagon while working on a large ranch in Wyoming.
Christina took the photos too.
During her stint as a shepherd, Lorna minded the sheep, chopped her own firewood, shot and skinned the local wildlife and fished the rivers for her food.
When asked what she liked about the lifestyle, she said 'Nothing! But when I look back on that time, life surrounded by nature was amazing.'
The Shepherd's Wagon now sits in Lorna's backyard in Washoe Valley, Nevada.
It contains a full sized bed, the original wood stove, a toiletry cabinet and as you can see, other items of necessity.
It was back to basics then,
and today, do you really need anything more...

Artist's Gypsy Wagon...

Wandering Book Artists Peter and Donna are from Northern California and travel the US in their wonderfully whimsical sixteen foot gypsy wagon.
They've been together since 1976 when they were craftspeople working at Renaissance Fairs.
Making paper, doing letterpress printing, bookbinding and creating beautiful unique books affords them a good life on the road.
They love living in their small space,
to them it's a mixture of a boat and a caravan.
And, it's like living in a fairy tale...
