If you want to go almost anywhere in a housetruck and you have a spare $500,000 you might consider this Unicat TerraCross Off Roader that might, just take you there.
Or you just might save yourself a hell of a lot of money and find something with less of the more and still have some money over for living
when you get there.
But there's some very nice design features on this Unicat, some of which you may have seen before and if you want to see more,
have a look here.
I've seen one of these beasts get stuck on a loose gravel beach, the owner was lulled into a sense of false security and believed his vehicle could go anywhere.
It couldn't and a local contractor saved the day...
Not too pretty on the outside but the inside makes up for it. I'll take two. Where do I pick it up?
ReplyDeleteExcellent for Australia, or of course Africa, where I went with 26 other NZers in 1987 in 2 converted MAN ex army trucks, which were the best possible vehicles for Africa. It had standing room and elbow to ceiling real up and down windows, and Aeroplane seats with storage beneath. The storage behind seating area held our camping gear. The storage cupboards at the back held our food, including refrigeration compartment. Big water tank and spare Petrol tank underneath, plus 2x spare tyres worth $1000.00 each. We carried sand mats and plenty of spades and of course winches for when we got stuck in Desert or swamp.
ReplyDeleteThere was a wonderful viewing platform up above the cab. Can I say more! We camped for 3 months and never got stuck irrevocably, and nobody got sick. Trip of a lifetime for me.

Having four-wheel-drive just means that when you eventually do get stuck, it happens further out in the bush..
ReplyDeleteYou are so right about that Mr Smarty...
DeleteDoes it have a flower box?
ReplyDeleteHaha Val, no, an oversight I think. Maybe next year's model...
DeleteI don't get the first 3 inside pics vs. the rest of them...
ReplyDeleteAnd in the first 3, it looks like there's stuff under the loft bed. It's clearly not standing height under there though. What are you supposed to do--strap on knee-pads and walk around on your knees?
I think there is standing room under the bed loft...
