No this isn't a joke but it is something to give hope to the world and make it smile.
A dream is about to become a reality at Petriplatz in the heart of Germany's Berlin.
And when you consider the city's history, the event has even more amazing significance.
The city is preparing to host a structure common to the three main monotheistic religions, Judaism, Christianity and Islam.
Designed by architect Wilfried Kuehn and named The House Of One, the brick structure will include a synagogue, a church, a mosque and
a common area.
Father Gregor Hohberg, Rabbi Tovia Ben Chorin and Imam Kadir Sanci are seen here holding symbolic building bricks while standing at the construction site in Petriplatz.
Perhaps there is a God...
What a wonderful imitative at this time when there is so much strife in the world. You can get involved with the funding by sponsoring a brick or two...!
ReplyDeleteI've funded 2 bricks and it feels great because I feel a part of doing something for tolerance and a dialogue of understanding. It's an antidote to feeling helpless about the constant bad news in the media. Great you posted on it Keith!
ReplyDeleteGood on you PB!
DeleteYou have made a wonderful contribution to world peace.
Thankyou...
Perhaps you could post a link here telling folk how they can fund a brick should they wish...
The web site is house-of-one.org and to fund one brick is 10 Euros. If you go to the web site there is an easy link to donate.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to build in my town a non-denominational polytheist temple called the House of Many. It'll be filled with sculptured nudes like an Ancient Greek temple, and tastefully decorated exteriorly with divine figures engaging in erotic activities, like certain Hindu temples. I just know everyone's gonna love it.
ReplyDeleteOur prayers are being answered! I want to sponsor a brick or two and will tell my friends! Thanks, Keith and pb for letting us know about this.
