I'm Very Sorry Officer, But I Have To Drive Fast Explains Eighty Six Year Old Betty...
I'm sorry officer said eighty six year old Betty
as she was pulled over yet again for speeding in her little motorhome.
If I don't get to my destination quickly,
I forget where I'm going...
Hey, do you think that excuse would work for me. My memory is not as god as it used to be. I think it is because my hard-drive is full and needs defragged. Too bad we can't do that as easy with our brains as we can with our computers.
Now this lady is my kind of roll model. She proves the old saying that getting older is inevitable but growing up is a matter of choice. What a sense of humor!
As a lung-strengthening exercise I've taken to blowing up balloons. When one's filled I don't tie it off or anything sensible like that; I just let go and let it fly around the room. Sobriety is the attainment of mature minds, I'm tellin ya.
Betty is a real Gem . I met her at Easter when she drove herself to Dunedin (from around Ohope or thereabouts ). She is a real livewire and a lovely person .
I accompanied an 89 yr old gentleman friend to an outpatient procedure & was to drive him home after. He was weaving a bit & State Trooper stopped us, walked to the window & asked, "Any alcohol, drugs or loose medication?". Cubby said, "No, thanks. We've got everything".Trooper had a sense of humor!
