Many call themselves Gypsies and Gypsy Travellers these days because of the lifestyle they live.
The real Gypsies are a people I have enormous respect and admiration for.
They are very proud and beautiful.
To meet one is a pleasure and a privilege.
They've had to fight to exist and live their chosen nomadic life for centuries.
It's time things became easier for them but in the UK and Europe especially, life keeps on getting harder.
I do have a Romany friend.
His name is Bob.
When he speaks of his father, his family history, my heart and soul sing.
I'll introduce him to you one day...
beautiful....♥
ReplyDeleteReally nice pictures.
ReplyDeleteIt take generations to mutate and survive, being an out cast and persecuted can give strength if there is a flame burning within. No one can stamp that out.NEVER FORGET WHERE YOU COME FROM.
DeleteCheck out Victor Frankle's book "Man's search for a meaning".
By the why I hope all you dood's out there are enjoying the end of the world.
Isn't it nice to be at a new beginning?

ReplyDeleteKeith, I appreciate your feelings towards other people. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteOn the other side from these nice photos there's the sad gut-wrenching, tear-jerking stories of the babies and young children of Romanian gypsies and peasants who get taken to the hospitals because of the illnesses they come down with due to the harsh conditions in which they're raised . . . never to be taken home! They then end up in the orphanages which can barely cope with the demand, but thanks to some wonderful Kiwis - supporters of Orphans Aid International, and other organisations - help is on its way.
