It's the middle of winter here in the Southern Hemisphere but that doesn't mean there's no beautiful fine and sunny days.
The Flying Tortoise is at a favourite place, the Department Of Conservation campground at Northland's Uretiti Beach.
The beach is as beautiful as ever with just a few nudists soaking up the Vitamin D.
TFT has the extra 'tracking' solar panel out to catch all the sun possible on these shorter days.
And summer's on the way...
"Tracking" ? You move it yourself? I am a proponent of the K.I.S.S principle myself...Nothing simpler! :-)
ReplyDeleteYes Joel, it certainly does work on the KISS principle. Couldn't be simpler. Or cheaper. I move it myself a couple of times a day. No university degree needed either...
DeleteHey K - whats the rainbow stick thing? V x
ReplyDeleteIt's one of a series of painted Manuka stick 'garden sculptures' I made a while ago. I use them as awning poles, this one is being used for my clothes line...
DeleteWell, that's a handsome Flying Tortoise. Compares well with George... For it's age!
ReplyDeleteOrganic Solar Tracking at its best.
ReplyDeleteHaha, I couldn't have figured out how to do it without your expert and professional advice G.
DeleteYou really are so clever sometimes.
Thankyou.
Keith, You have wonderful flowers in winter; they aren’t artificial?
ReplyDeleteI found this notice:
At the Biomedical Institute at the University of Munich, scientists forced geraniums to blossom in the middle of winter just by attaching a sound-pure tuning fork with the son tone CIS to their flowerpot.
No Erika. The Geraniums aren't artificial, they're real.
DeleteThese ones have done quite a few thousand kilometres by now, been battered by high winds laden with salt spray, vehicle fumes from the highways but they keep on keeping on.
I talk to them occasionaly but mostly treat them with respectful but healthy neglect...
Keith, I think I saw your geraniums in autumn 2010. Maybe, they are still the same.
DeleteKeep on talking to them.
Yes they are the same and amazingly intelligent too, for Geraniums.
DeleteGuess it's because of their adventures and their lifestyle.
And what does this tell us:
