The Beautiful Housetrucks Of Robert Scott...
I'm delighted to share with you the first in a series of these wonderful 'studiotrucks'.
A follower of Thoreau, Robert, his wife Colita and children Madelaine, Arthur and Hailey live the 'simple life' on their beautiful organic, one hundred and fifty year old Hollyburton Park in Victoria, Australia.
You can visit them there.
Rob started building these trucks because he loved the idea of them, there they were, just sitting around on their round rubber foundations, their chassis and truck trays ideal bases and he went to work enthused.
Of course he wasn't restrained by anything except his own imagination.
He didn't have to worry about building codes, council bylaws, regulations or restrictions.
While they are or could be road legal, they're used mainly as guest and 'woofer' accommodation. Or, even 'granny flats'.
And now he keeps building them because it seems the right thing to do.
Wood that some would see fit to put on the fire is like gold to this artisan and he uses contrasting timbers to great effect.
And then there's the gorgeous recycled windows and doors!
Another feature is the extensive use of corrugated iron cladding, very much associated with building in Australia and New Zealand.
Rob uses it as it reflects and emphasises the ruralness of his 'houses on wheels' and too because of it's bracing strength and maintenance free surface.
These beautiful studiotrucks are works of art to rest or work in, play in, live and love in...
How beautiful & creative. I would like a roadworthy one please.
