Many of you have visited the Port Jackson Campsite on New Zealand's Coromandel Peninsula.
All would have had their stay there greatly enhanced by the friendly and welcoming Bill and Ann who presented their many guests with fresh fish and much helpful advice.
Nothing was too much trouble for them.
They were the best.
They had been camp managers there for many years until early this year when the Department of Conservation dismissed them.
This was much to the distress of their hundreds and hundreds of friends who went back to their favourite campground year after year.
Bill and Ann went back there too this year, this time as campers and were looking forward to a summer of sun, much fishing and good times.
Bill died last night of a sudden heart attack.
He was with Ann, the love of his life and he was at the place he loved most.
Many of his good friends were camped nearby.
We will all miss him.
Rest in Peace my friend...
It is always so sad to loose a friend. But he died where he liked to be and doing what he liked. Can't beat that.
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame - Fate is a very fickle thing - what a way to go for Bill - Ann, our hearts go out to you - our thoughts will be with you .
