If not they could very well end up at Airstream Ranch, another art installation in Texas where they already have the Cadillac Ranch.

Frank Bates who owns a franchise for Airstream wanted to show the world something, I'm not sure what, but finally after two years of fighting local bureaucrats, Bates evidently won his battle but the results aren't pretty...

The Best Little Tree Hut...

When Jono Williams was eight, he sourced some used and salvagable materials and built his first tree house.
Now the 24 year old engineer/graphic designer has just built his tenth tree house in New Zealand's Palmerston North.
The twelve meter square building built high in the trees has a rainwater harvesting system, a hot water heater, a gas heated bath. LED lighting and of course, what most tree houses have don't they, a radio controlled drawbridge.
No building permits were sought or given as the structure is within the country's legal restrictions for tree houses.

Such Sorrow At Port Jackson...

Many of you have visited the Port Jackson Campsite on New Zealand's Coromandel Peninsula.
All would have had their stay there greatly enhanced by the friendly and welcoming Bill and Ann who presented their many guests with fresh fish and much helpful advice.
Nothing was too much trouble for them.
They were the best.
They had been camp managers there for many years until early this year when the Department of Conservation dismissed them.
This was much to the distress of their hundreds and hundreds of friends who went back to their favourite campground year after year.
Bill and Ann went back there too this year, this time as campers and were looking forward to a summer of sun, much fishing and good times.
Bill died last night of a sudden heart attack.
He was with Ann, the love of his life and he was at the place he loved most.
Many of his good friends were camped nearby.
We will all miss him.
Rest in Peace my friend...

Paleo's Earthbag Domehouse...

Paleo fell in love with earthbag structures says Kelly Hart from Earthbag Building Blog, so he decided to create his own 9ft diameter experimental domehouse.
He bought a few hundred sandbags on ebay, filled his trailer with red clay from the local quarry and got on with it.
He's used glass bottles for windows and couldn't resist using these tree roots that were lying around.
If you can dream it, you can do it...

Farewell Cesaria Evora...

Cesaria Evora, known as the Barefoot Diva
and one of the great vocal artists of our time, died yesterday.
Her voice was said to have 'filled the auditorium, pierced through the roof and sung to the skies above'. Her most famous song, Solade, was a global hit.
She died in her native town of Mindelo on the island of Sao Vicento in Cabo Verde where she was so loved that two days of national mourning has been declared in her honour.
