Noah's Ark For Sale...

High on a hill, on the aptly named Revelation Drive, with wonderful views over mountains, the sea and New Zealand's city of Christchurch is this replica perhaps of Noah's Ark.
Thanks Rodini for the link.
Buyers with pets are especially welcome...

Freedom Camping Is Alive And Well...

Freedom Camping in New Zealand,
as far as I'm concerned is alive and well and it's going to stay that way. Nobody, least of all an ignorant and arrogant bunch of bureaucrats with their punitive legislation is going to take this away from me.
As Winston Churchill said,
"We will fight them on the beaches..."

Obituary...

Freedom Camping as many thousands of New Zealanders and visitors to this beautiful country have known it, died yesterday amid much outpouring of grief and protests that fell on deaf ears.
It had been in robust health for many years and it was only the actions of this government that in effect brought about the demise of this much loved activity and now has put in place punitive measures with large fines ranging from $200 that will further boost the coffers of local and national government.
There will be much more dismay when the nation realises what this bunch of interfering bureaucrats have done to curb another of its freedoms.
I will not apologise or pretend to have anything less than total contempt, disgust and loathing for this current government and will do what I can to challenge it wherever and whenever I see the need.
It's time for the people of this country to evict any and all governments who pretend to have the interests of their people at heart when all they have is their own controlling agendas.
A wake will be held as from today attended by all freedom loving New Zealanders to mourn the loss of another of our fundamental rights.
Freedom Camping is dead.
Long live Freedom Camping!

New Zealand's Rural Northland...

Far away from the urban jungle.
This piece of architectural mediocrity that has been skilfully abandoned for many years, looks to my eyes, just beautiful, in this typical rural far north setting.
I hope no developers have any plans for it...

The Flying Tortoise Lands In A Whole Lot Of Trouble...

Woops! Not quite a crash landing but I taxied backwards into this bloody big hole in the tarmac and was very nearly grounded.
This is a very remote and beautiful airstrip way up north of New Zealand on the Karikari Peninula and service crew are scarce on the ground. Fortunately there was one other vehicle here and it was just big and grunty enough to pull TFT out of the half metre deep hole.
Luckily there was very little damage, and we're flying again.
Well we will be after a few days R and R...

The Zambulance...

As a result of this innovative idea, communities in Zambia, way out the back of beyond now have this Zambulance, a bicycle ambulance to get people needing medical attention to rural health centres.
Such a simple solution.
And it would make a great bicycle camper...
