Why Didn't They Google Him...

If the 'US Military Intelligence people', which is really an oxymoron, wanted to find Mr Bin Laden's home, why didn't they just use Google Maps instead of squandering squillions of dollars and years wandering in the wilderness looking for him....

The Lighthouse Hotel...

Over thirty metres high and more than thirty miles off the coast of Bremerhaven, Lower Saxony, this 125 year old lighthouse has been functioning as Germans 'loneliest hotel' and has welcomed more than 800 happy guests over the last ten years.
There's a bedroom that sleeps six and a combined living area and kitchen. The bathroom is seventy steps away.
There's no golf course, no valet or room service, no morning paper and no guarantee that the tugboat will be able to take you off to meet your scheduled flight home.
A bit of an adventure really with great sea views...

The Passion Persists...

The passion persists.
Unfortunately my desire is compelled to pause.
My squirrelling instincts have to be curtailed as the storage aboard TFT reaches it's limits.
Never mind, there's many marvellous jars of mixed vegetables, beautiful beetroot and perhaps, perfectly pickled onions just waiting.
Time will tell...

Marlena de Blasi...

Being an avid reader, I've devoured many hundreds of books over the years but rarely have I enjoyed one such as this delicious book by this wonderful storyteller.
Much of it has been read through eyes filled with tears of absolute joy as she's given me a taste of her life with her Venetian husband Fernando, her muse Barlozzo and other characters in this two hundred strong little Tuscan village of San Casciano.
This is a book filled with passion for life, food and love.
It is simply beautiful...

Bottling. It's Like Kissing...

'Bottling, it's like kissing' says Marlena de Blasi in her simply glorious novel of life in Tuscany titled Dolce e Salata. ' Once you start, one thing leads to another and before you know it you're surrounded by jars and jars of colourful vegetables'.
Here's the first two of many that I'm doing over the next couple of weeks, carrots, capsicum, chilli, bean, cauliflower in a vinegar mix with lots of wonderful spices. They could be delicious!

On An Autumn Evening...

Every Friday evening there's a wonderful Farmers Market at Katikati's little domain.
The evening sun added to the delights of the plentyful produce and Yvonne called in for a time before rushing off to William and Kate's big day.
