For the last fourteen years Darron and Kylie have driven the 10 hour each way journey from their house to Port Jackson.
"We may live in New Plymouth but Port Jackson is our spiritual home where we come to recharge out batteries and soothe our souls.
We wish for our children to enjoy the same incredible lifestyle here as we have.
We don't want any developments here at this special place..."

and the late and great David Lange, the wonderful and charismatic Prime Minister of New Zealand between 1984 and 1990 and all avid campers from an early age said "David would've possibly said of DoC's treatment of a patient who wasn't sick, I can smell the commercialism on their breath from here...
And I'm delighted to be the nine hundredth person to sign this important petition!"

Alco and Marlies are holidaying here from Amsterdam and went fishing yesterday with Chris and Marcus on 'Just Drifting'.
Alco caught this 'monster' Snapper.
And released a 12 pound female in its prime.
A shame to take the breeders he said.
Everyone's been getting marvellous catches here recently.
Thankfully there's a daily limit..

An MP Who Talks And Listens. It's Almost Unheard Of...

Catherine Delahunty, Green MP for Coromandel visited Port Jackson yesterday and gave campers there much hope that their traditional camping grounds can be saved from the bureaucratic commercial imperatives of the Department of Conservation.
And the petition numbers keep growing...

Martin signs in to become the 801st camper here at Port Jackson who is demanding that the Department of Conservation changes its mind on how it manages or mismanages the land belonging to all New Zealanders...

The One That Didn't Get Away...

Aidan from Te Pahu in the Waikato with the biggest Snapper of his thirteen years. Using his favourite 'soft bait' with the unlikely name of Nuclear Chicken, he had to work hard with light tackle to land the six pounder on board Chris's boat Just Drifting.
His grin's almost as big as the fish...
