Non! Non! Non!

French president Nicolas Sarkozy has ordered his bureaucrats to expel 'illegal' Gypsy immigrants and dismantle their camps.
France is known to have rounded up Gypsies and sent them to concentration camps
during World War Two.
Estimates of Roma living in France vary between half a million and one point three million.
Around 10,000 Roma were expelled from France last year.
There are many humanitarian individuals in the world but no humanitarian governments as far as I'm aware Mr President.
Yours could be the first and start a trend...

Postcard...

Just a few metres downstream from Whangarei's beautiful Town Basin, are
these aged boatsheds which their visiting tenants stay in awhile as they have care and attention lavished on them.
Whangarei has it's fair share of 'Horners'. Many who have sailed here have done so solo and on more than one occasion. Yachts from the Marina sail north to the Pacific in New Zealand's winter and return after the cyclone season.
Many families too, sail from ports thousands of miles away and call the Basin home for a time.
Some forever...

Christopher Robin...

Christopher Robin may well be a character created by AA Milne and is Winnie-the-Pooh's best friend but this Christopher Robin came down town this morning, yes, with Alice, his 1937 Austin Six.
Doesn't Alice look immaculate in tan.
Seeing her took me back in time.
My 'Alice' was blue
and my days were never grey...

A Man Called Peter...

Meet my friend Peter.
Along with a few others in their Housebuses, he's with his caravan here at the Whangarei Town Basin carpark. It's a great place to meet up in this user friendly town.
Peter's been on the road a while.
He plays the piano accordian.
His favourite song is 'All of Me'.
He's very tall...

Rick kindly emailed me to say that this house is located on an island called Ellidaey near Vestmannaeyjar, a small archipelago off the south coast of Iceland.
The house was a gift to the singer Bjork as a thankyou gift from her motherland for putting Iceland on the international map.

Solar Flight...

The world's first Solar powered plane just days ago, flew all night for the first time.
Solar Impulses chief pilot flew the HB-SIA prototype airplane with its 200 foot wingspan for 26 hours in perfect conditions.
The plane is powered by four electric motors. 10,748 solar cells feed the engines and store excess energy in special high performance batteries.
The Flying Tortoise might soon be landing at an airport near you...
